Living and loving San Francisco, our parallel lives had never crossed before the first Thursday of May 2011. Dave was early; he stood there, waiting, reading, waiting. And Sarah arrived in her usual manner (late). Then one art gallery at a time, one glass of wine followed by another, conversation that night got better, funnier, and more meaningful. And that kept happening date after date.
Together, we hiked some mountains, rode some chairlifts, and proved a tent could fit two humans and a dog. With Dave's support, Sarah navigated a job change, impressed Uncle Peter, and taught Dave to pickle and jam. We met each other's friend circles, cooked meals, and kept going to see art. Dave met Tom Zisa. Sarah learned about Dogg Pound. And slowly, surely, our roots intertwined as we fell in love.
All of you reading this: you're a part of it. We are products of you, of our families and communities. Of our places, our experiences. You each helped us become who we were in 2011, and you'll help us grow, evolve, learn, mature. You'll help us continue to be the healthy, happy, in-love people we are. Thank you for giving us direction, and guidance, and for helping to bring us together.
